16 Injured in Two Separate Road Accidents in Sindhuli District

Sixteen people were injured in two separate road accidents in Sindhuli district. Among them, three are reported to be in critical condition.

In the first incident, a Bolero jeep accident at Bhalukhola in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-6, under the BP Highway, left 13 people injured. According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Lal Dhwaj Subedi of the District Police Office, the jeep (Ba 20 Cha 931), driven by 26-year-old Om Bahadur Rana Magar of Golanjor Rural Municipality-4, was heading from Kathmandu to Dhapcha when it went out of control and plunged 50 meters down into the Sunkoshi River.

All 13 people onboard, including the driver, were injured.

Among the injured, 23-year-old Prem Magar from Golanjor-4 is in critical condition. Other injured include 20-year-old Malati Khulal, 17-year-old Bhoj Bahadur Thapa, 22-year-old Jampa Khulal, 11-year-old Sushan Magar, Kedar Thapa Magar, 20-year-old Rozina Thapa Magar, 22-year-old Gyanendra Magar, 35-year-old Tara Bahadur Khulal, 8-year-old Nitesh Magar, 22-year-old Roshmi Magar, 25-year-old Om Ale Magar, and 26-year-old driver Om Bahadur Rana Magar.

A joint rescue team from the Khurkot Area Police Office and the Armed Police Disaster Base Camp rescued the injured and transported them to Sunkoshi Community Hospital for treatment.

In a separate accident, three people were injured when a motorcycle crashed at Thakur Khola Bridge in Dudhauli Municipality-5 along the Madan Bhandari Highway. Two of them are reported to be in critical condition. Police have not released the identities of the injured.

According to SP Subedi, the motorcycle (Ga 8 Pa 2745), which was traveling from Sirthauli to Daka, went out of control and crashed into the roadside iron railing.

The injured were rescued and taken to Dudhauli Municipal Hospital in Sirthauli for treatment. Police stated that all three had consumed alcohol.
