5.9 Richter Scale Earthquake kills one, full damage yet to be known

One person died while another one was injured with at least 25 houses damaged in the earthquake that hit parts of west Nepal and beyond Tuesday afternoon, according to the preliminary report.

Jamuna Rokaya from Gaimul Rural Municipality died while working in the field as the stone that fell down hit her fatally.

Likewise, one herder was wounded while a herd of 50 to 60 sheep is feared dead. The treatment of the shepherd Ramlal Bohara is underway as locals reported.

The epicenter of the quake was at Mela in Bajura district, according to Tirtha Raj Dahal, Information Officer at Seismological Center, Surkeht.

The powerful tremor was also felt in Kailali and Dhangadhi districts, sending people out of their homes in panic.
