38 arrested, including foreigners, for organizing a trance party in Pokhara

Kaski – Police have arrested 38 individuals for organizing a “trance party” (an illegal gathering involving foreign nationals and narcotics) in Pokhara.

A joint group of Nepalis and foreigners were taken into custody while holding a late-night party in an isolated house near the forest above Phewa Lake in Pokhara Metropolitan City-18, Sedhi.

Superintendent of Police SP Navin Karki, head of the District Police Office Kaski, informed that the arrests were made during a raid conducted on Tuesday night.

The police acted on a tip-off suggesting that drugs were being consumed and sold at the event. Following the information, a police team led by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Navraj Bhattarai from the Ward Police Office, Baidam, carried out the raid.

According to SP Karki, narcotics were recovered from eight of the individuals in custody. Among those found in possession of drugs are one Israeli national, two Indians, and five Nepali citizens.

An investigation into drug-related offenses has been initiated against those found with narcotics, and legal proceedings are underway. Regarding the remaining detainees, SP Karki stated that police are currently reviewing their past criminal records before proceeding with further action.
