UML’s Daman Bhandari elected from Bhajang
Bhandari received 11,612 votes. Bhandari’s closest competitor Abhishek Bahadur Singh of the Nepali Congress received 11,346 votes.
Janak Bahadur Budha of the CPN (Maoist Centre) received 3,967 votes while Dil Bahadur Singh of the CPN (Unified Socialist) scored 2,513 votes.
A total of 30,328 votes were cast in the election held on Saturday.
Eleven candidates contested for a seat in the Sudurpaschim Assembly which remained vacant after Prithvi Bahadur Singh, a member and provincial minister, died in a road accident in June last year.
