Kathmandu – Former Prime Minister and chair of the CPN (Unified Socialist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, stated that the CPN (UML) is deeply mired in crisis.

Addressing a program at the party’s central office on Friday, he said that the CPN (UML), long considered the main communist party in Nepal’s politics, is currently facing a severe crisis.

He observed that internal conflicts within the UML are growing more pronounced. On its future, he remarked that it’s not easy to predict what will happen in the coming days.

He added that tendencies such as channeling blame, engaging in improper actions, sliding into personality cults, adopting petty capitalist behaviors, and sinking deeply into opportunistic right-wing trends must all be defeated.

He said:

“The CPN (UML), regarded as the principal communist party in Nepalese politics, is now deeply afflicted by crisis. Internal contradictions are increasing. It is not so easy to say what its future will be.”
