Two killed and several wounded in communal clashes in Haryana
The communal clashes that broke out at a religious procession in Nuh district of Haryana on Monday has taken two lives while dozens including police were injured.
It is reported that the local police station has also been attacked and all the residents there are asked to stay indoors.
The Haryana government on Monday imposed prohibitory orders in Nuh and Gurgaon, Times of India said adding Schools in Gurgaon, Faridabad, Palwal have been shut today with internet services suspended in Nuh till Wednesday.
The clashes that broke out during the ‘Braj Mandal Yatra’, organised by Vishva Hindu Parishad and Matri Shakti Durga Vahini, and led to stone pelting and arson, with more than 40 vehicles torched, the Print said quoting police sources.
About 2500 people who were part of the religious procession took shelter in the Nulhar Mahadev temple while additional security forces have been sent to Nuh and its borders have been sealed, Indian media further said.
