Kathmandu – The Unified Socialist Party has warned against making reckless remarks regarding Chairman Madhav Nepal, who is currently facing allegations.

After leader Ramkumar Jhankri harshly criticized Nepal in Lumbini on Saturday, General Secretary Ghanshyam Bhusal instructed party leaders and workers not to speak freely, stating that any decisions about leadership will be made through formal party channels.

Jhankri had questioned the leadership and proposed convening an early general convention. She also lashed out at Chairman Nepal, saying, “You can’t carry a dead log,” prompting GS Bhusal to emphasize that members should speak only based on decisions taken by the party.

In a Sunday statement issued by GS Bhusal, it was stated: “The party, in an institutional manner, will take any further necessary decisions on how to handle this situation. Therefore, the party central office draws the attention of all comrades to refrain from making any public statements or writings that deviate from the official stance of the party.”

Targeting remarks at Jhankri, GS Bhusal further advised that there are proper procedures and places within the party to express one’s views. “Be aware that expressing your views should follow the party’s existing methods and forums, and refrain from engaging in public disputes or confrontations under any pretext,” he urged in the statement.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority filed charges on Jestha 22 (June 5) against 93 individuals, including Nepal, in connection with the Patanjali land case. After the case was filed, Nepal was released on bail of NPR 3.5 million.
