Thamel Police Assault: CPN-UML’s student leader in Custody

Kathmandu – Kamalraj Joshi, a leader of ANNFSU (All Nepal National Free Students’ Union), has been arrested on charges of being involved in the assault on police in Thamel. Police arrested leader Joshi on Thursday.

Kathmandu District Police Complex stated that Joshi was taken into custody from New Baneshwar. On Magh 24 (February 7), two police personnel, Havaldar Jagulal Chaudhary and Constable Nargendra Raj Bista, who were on duty in Durbar Marg, Thamel, were beaten.

Previously, Dinesh Sigdel from Taplejung and Ramesh Phulara from Dadeldhura were arrested in connection with the incident. Joshi was also seen in the CCTV footage of the incident, but he was arrested by the police after facing criticism for not taking action against him.
