Teknath Rijal, Bhutanese refugee leader, arrested following refugee scam

Kathmandu, 18 May: Teknath Rijal, Bhutanese refugee leader and human right activist, has been arrested following ongoing investigations on refugee scam.
Rijal was arrested from the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu.
He had been detained for necessary investigation and interrogation in connection with the scam, said Dan Bahadur Karki, SSP, District Police Range, Kathmandu.
With Rijal, the number of alleged detained in connection with the refugee scam investigations has reached 16. He is, however, the only Bhutanese to be arrested so far.
