“Sudurpashchim Royals Top NPL League Phase with 6-Wicket Victory Over Karnali Yaks”
Kathmandu – In the final match of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) league phase, Sudurpashchim Royals defeated Karnali Yaks by 6 wickets, finishing at the top of the points table.
Despite the loss, Karnali succeeded in securing a playoff spot by surpassing Kathmandu Gorkhas in the net run rate. With this, the playoff equation has been finalized.
In the upcoming first qualifier, Sudurpashchim Royals will face Janakpur Bolts, while Karnali Yaks will play Chitwan Rhinos in the eliminator phase.
The winner of the eliminator will play the loser of the first qualifier in the second qualifier. The winner of the second qualifier will advance to the final.
In the final match of the league phase on Monday, Karnali, after losing the toss and batting first, set a modest target of 102 runs, which Sudurpashchim completed in 15.2 overs, losing 4 wickets. This marks Sudurpashchim’s sixth victory in the league, with their only loss coming against Chitwan Rhinos.
In Sudurpashchim’s sixth win, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 38 runs, while Ishan Pandey remained not out at 38. Saif Zaib also contributed with 11 runs. For Karnali, Sompal Kami, Bipin Sharma, and Nandan Yadav each took 1 wicket.
