Kathmandu – The government arrested six individuals, including Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa, on Sunday, following demonstrations by pro-monarchy supporters.

Police arrested Thapa along with pro-monarchy activists Shila Rana, Rakesh Basnet, Ramchandra Lamichhane, Binod Kapali, and Saroj Timilsina.

They are being held in custody at the District Police Office, Bhadrakali, according to the police.

Police stated that Thapa and the five others were arrested when they attempted to break the prohibitory order.

Meanwhile, RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden has warned that if Kamal Thapa is not respectfully released, Kathmandu will be shut down starting tomorrow.
