Siddha Baba Tunnel Achieves Breakthrough in Historic Milestone for National Infrastructure

The main tunnel of Siddha Baba Tunnel has had a ‘breakthrough’ today. The breakthrough occurred during a virtual event with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.

After the Prime Minister’s address, the breakthrough of the 1.126-kilometer tunnel section from the Upper Siddha Baba Temple to the Butwal–Tansen road section under the Siddhartha Highway, a national pride project, was announced.

Although the Prime Minister was scheduled to visit the site, he addressed the event virtually from his residence in Baluwatar due to health issues.

“The breakthrough of the tunnel is a matter of joy for the entire country. Nepal is no longer considered a remote place as it once was. We want to make it even more accessible,” said Prime Minister Oli. “The current government is committed to bringing rapid development and good governance to the country. We will seek assistance from others and we will build our nation. The government will focus on matters that benefit the country. Our efforts are directed toward this goal.”
