SC issues show cause to Govt on prohibitory order

Kathmandu, 24 Nov: The Supreme Court has issued show cause notice to the government over prohibitory order being imposed between Maitighar to Baneshwor since last week.
A single bench comprising justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai issued the notice in response to multiple petitions filed before it.
The District Administration Office, Kathmandu on Monday had issued the prohibitory order in the area effective for 30 days in the advent of two protest demonstrations scheduled to be held at Maitighar on Thursday.
Advocates including Swagat Nepal, Premraj Silwal, Trilok Bdr Chand had registered separate writ petitions arguing that the order breached the fundamental rights of peaceful protest and demonstration.
