RPP’s demonstration for Hindu Kingdom
Kathmandu,09 Apr: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has begun its Kathmandu centered demonstration demanding change in the republic system.
The party had submitted a 40-point demand to the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on 21 February and stated that it would begin nation-wide demonstration in order to push the government for the fulfilment.
Reinstatement of Monarchy and Hindu State along with abolition of the federal system are among the demands.
As the rally from Bhrikutimandap set to march towards Singh Durbar, security personnel charged water cannons against the demonstrators.
The security arrangement has been bolstered since early morning today. Over 4000 security personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incidents during the demonstration.
The fifth party in the House of Representative, RPP, with rallies from different corners of the valley marched towards Bhadrakali for the mass gathering.
As part of its campaign for restoring Monarchy and abolishing secularism, the demonstration aims to pressurize the government towards its demands, RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden stated on Sunday at a press conference held in Party Office, Dhumbarahi.
“We are all set for the peaceful demonstration” he had said, adding, we would break the prohibitory order of the government that is against democratic rights.
