Kathmandu, 22 May: The annual Rato Machhindranath Chariot procession has reached Jawalakhel with all the traditional pomp and public participation.
The chariot on its final day of procession has been pulled from Prayag Pokhari, Lagankhel to Jawalkhel. It will be stationed at Jawalkhel till Wednesday with much fervor and reverence.
The annual Rato Machhindranath is regarded as the god of rain and harvest plentifulness. The Voto Jatra, displaying ‘voto’ of Rato Machhindranath, is scheduled on Wednesday.
There is the tradition that the ‘voto’ of Machhindranath will be displayed in the presence of the head of the state.
