Prisoner dies in Parsa Jail, relatives protest against negligence of administration

Kathmandu – Rahul Sah, a 28-year-old prisoner in Parsa serving a 25-year sentence after being convicted of culpable homicide, has died.

His relatives began protesting in front of Narayani Sub-Regional Hospital. The prisoner, Sah, suddenly lost consciousness on Tuesday morning and later passed away. According to police, he became unconscious while exercising in the morning, reportedly showing symptoms of vomiting before collapsing. He was taken for treatment but was declared dead at the hospital.

Relatives have accused the prison administration of negligence causing Rahul’s death.

Addressing the media, Jagdish Sah, a member of Birgunj Metropolitan City-25 in Parsa, blamed shortcomings on the part of the administration for the incident. He stated that they refused to accept the body, asserting that the administration intentionally caused the death.
