Prime minister plans to visit china before india

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is set to visit China in two weeks. According to sources close to the Prime Minister, he will travel there to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. During his two-day visit, there is a possibility that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Previously, Prime Minister Oli paid a four-day official visit to China on December 2. Since 2020, Nepal has been participating as a dialogue partner in the SCO, which was established in 2001. The organization includes ten member countries: Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

Besides Nepal, other dialogue partners include Turkey, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leading officials from member nations, will also attend the summit.

Shortly after returning from China, on September 15, Prime Minister Oli will visit India. Ahead of this, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on September 1.
