Prez Poudel taken to Delhi for treatment

Kathmandu, 19 Apr: President Ram Chandra Poudel has been flown to Delhi, India in a special chartered aircraft for his treatment in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).

Hospital sources said President Poudel suffers from multiple ailments apart from age related one and decision to send him to Delhi was taken on the insistence of his family and secretariat.

Poudel felt unconscious briefly at Sheetal Niwas yesterday, and on examination at the hospital he was found to have developed chest infection and gastro problems.  He is also diabetic and has got other abdominal problems.

Poudel was kept under medical supervision in the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for a day yesterday and was flown to Delhi in a Shree airlines aircraft.

Poudel, who took over as president in the second week of March has not been keeping good health. He was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago and rushed there again yesterday as he fell unconscious.
