Kathmandu, 7 July: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ will be seeking the vote of confidence in parliament— his fifth in the last 17 months- and all calculations indicate he is going to lose it.

The necessity to seek the vote of confidence arises following withdrawal of the support by Communist party of Nepal – Unified Marxist Leninist (CPN-UML) and joining hands with Nepali Congress as part of the deal to topple the Prachanda government and form a new one under CPN-UML chief K P Oli.

As the fall of the Prachanda government is imminent, Oli and Nepali Congress chief Sher Bahadur Deuba will be approaching President Ram Chandra Poudel with signatures of the Members of Parliament (MPs) of two parties constituting majority in the House with the plea to have Oli appointed as the new Prime Minister.
