Prachanda on his way out, Oli likely to be the New PM

Kathmandu: Communist Party of Nepal- Unified Marxist Leninist Chief KP Oli, armed with the promise of support by the Nepali Congress, will be the Next Prime Ministry of the country.

Oli literally gave a vacate- notice to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda when the two had a meeting today, with a warning that failure to voluntarily step down by tomorrow, will pave the way for UML decision to withdraw its ministers from the cabinet and from the coalition altogether.

The new coalition— NC and UML—wants Maoists and all other parties to join the new government for political stability under a government representing as many political parties as possible.

Informed sources said Prachanda did not give any assurance but he will have no option other than to quit or join the new cabinet under Oli.
Oli was all smile, and as usual less serious when journalists approached as he came out of the Birendra convention hall. ‘Does not look like I will be the PM this year!’

The two parties had drafted its senior leaders— Ramesh Lekhak and Shankar Pokharel— respectively from  NC and UML to prepare the common agenda for the government and likely amendments on electoral reforms and federalism, especially at the provincial level.

The details of the proposed amendments are not yet made public but the two leaders are believed to have agreed that the proportional representation system must be done away with.
