PR counting shows CPN-UML at the top
The Nepali Congress Party is closely chasing the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist as the counting for the Proportional Representation votes continues.
The figure available until 3 pm Saturday indicates that the CPN-UML has secured 19.92 lacs followed by 19.25 lacs of the Nepali Congress. The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist Centre with 8.52 lacs votes was in the third position when nearly seven million votes had been counted.
The Rashtriya Swatantra Party was slightly below the Maoists with 8.18 lacs votes.
The Rashtriya Prajatantra Party which is at the bottom of five parties already qualified to be a ‘national party’ has secured 4.31 lacs.
