Kathmandu, 28 May: Veteran Human Rights leader Krishna Pahadi was arrested along with16 others during their protest demonstration demanding that all involved in the Bhutani Refugee scam be arrested.
The protesters led by Pahadi, founding chairman of the Human Rights and Peace Society, and 16 others were arrested while they held demonstrations outside the south gate of Singh Durbar in the afternoon.
They alleged that there was a move to dilute the case as some ‘big fishes’ involved were still not being interrogated and arrested.
A press release issued by the Samaj said that the organisation has so far held 50 sit-in protests in 24 districts across the country demanding arrest of all, including senior politicians, suspected to be involved in the refugee scam.
