PM Oli takes Oath of office and secrecy

Kathmandu, 15 July: Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli took the oath of office and secrecy slightly before noon.

President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath at 11.49 a. m., about 49 minutes behind the schedule.

Soon after Oli, two Deputy Prime Ministers-Prakash Man Singh (NC) and Bishnu Poudel (CPN-UML)- and other 20 ministers administered the oath of office and secrecy.

The portfolio allocation was also announced along with the formation of the cabinet.

Dr. Arzu Rana, wife of NC Chief Sher Bahadur Deuba has been allocated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with Home Ministry to Ramesh Lekhah.

Manhbir Rai of the CPN-UMl is the new Defense Minister.

Bidhya Bhattarai (CPN-UML), wife of Rabindra Adhikari who died in the air crash few years ago, has been appointed as Education Minister

With this 23- member cabinet including a Prime Minister in coalition with Nepali Congress and Janata Samajbadi Party has come into existence.
