PM Modi to visit US from Feb 12-13, first one after Donald Trump’s return to White House

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the United States from February 12-13, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced Friday.

This will be Modi’s first visit to US after the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the country on January 20.

The announcement comes days after a US military plane deported Indians who had illegally immigrated to the US.

Modi will travel to the US after Visiting France from February 10-12, where he will co-chair the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit in Paris.

Trump spoke with Modi on January 27 when he discussed immigration and stressed on the importance of India buying more American-made security equipment and fair bilateral trading ties.
