PL breathed his last this morning

Kathmandu, Dec 16 : P L singh, one of the most well known and respected Political figure in Nepal, breathed his last this morning.

Prem Lai Singh, popularly known and addressed by all as P L died this morning at Chaksibari, the place where he spent his life time both as a politician and caretaker of the Ganesh Man singh family when the top leader of the Nepali Congress and his wife Mangala Devi Singh were either in jail or in exile.  Singh, 85 was suffering from Respiratory problems for some time.

P L , the first mayor of Kathmandu under the 1991 constant later a minister for Environmental, was a bachelor.

Known for his political integrity and idealistic stance, P L was the only member of parliament ( House of Representatives) other than K P Bhattarai who declined to take oath when it was revived beyond the mandate in 2006. He remained strong advocate for the restoration of the constitution of Bepal, 2047.
