Pakistan Embassy Launches Nepali Book on Buddhist Heritage

Kathmandu, July 10 – The Embassy of Pakistan in Nepal organized the launch of a Nepali-language book titled पाकिस्तानका बौध सम्पदाहरु (Pakistanka Boudha Sampadhaharu), authored by renowned scholar Mr. Om Charan Amatya, highlighting Pakistan’s Buddhist heritage.

Hon. Mr. Bhim Prasad Acharya, MP (CPN-UML), attended the ceremony as Chief Guest. Special Guests included H.E. U Myo Myint Maung, Ambassador of Myanmar, and Ms. Chameera Munasinghe, Charge d’Affaires of Sri Lanka. The event saw the participation of monks, Buddhist scholars, diplomats, political leaders, journalists, and members of civil society, along with officials of the Pakistan Embassy. Various Pakistani universities and think tanks also joined online.

In his remarks, Hon. Mr. Acharya emphasized Buddhist heritage as a shared legacy between Nepal and Pakistan and stressed the importance of enhancing people-to-people (P2P) connections. Mr. Amatya spoke about the deep spiritual and cultural links between the two nations.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to Nepal, H.E. Abrar H Hashmi, said Pakistan takes pride in preserving its heritage and aims to share it with the world. He lauded Mr. Amatya’s efforts and hoped the book would inspire greater cultural understanding and spiritual exploration among Nepali readers.
