Individual arrested at Pashupati Aryaghat on the accusation of removing flesh and bones from a corpse

Kathmandu – A man has been arrested at Pashupati Aryaghat on allegations of extracting flesh and bones from a body that was about to be cremated.

The suspect is a Brahmin who had the responsibility of conducting the cremation. Following a complaint lodged by the deceased’s relatives, the police took him into custody.

According to the Kathmandu District Police Office, the suspect is being held at the Gausala Police Station, where the investigation is underway.

The relatives have accused him of removing flesh and bones from the body of Ram Shahi of Banepa Municipality–9 in Kavre. However, the police have stated that no evidence has yet surfaced confirming any sale or distribution of the removed remains.
