Oli to be administered oath of office Monday

Kathmandu, 14 June: Newly appointed Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli will be administered the oath of office by President Ram Chandra Poudel tomorrow.

A letter signed by Shailaja Regmi, and sent to the Parliament secretariat said the oath ceremony will take place at 11 a m Monday.

Both the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist led by K P Oli and Nepali Congress Party which will be the partners in the coalition have been holding parleys internally, and with each other, on the choice of ministers and division of portfolios.

According to sources in the Nepali Congress, Chairman Deuba has cleared three names –Arzu Rana Deuba and Ramesh Lekhak –respectively as the Foreign Affairs and the Home Minister. Besides, Jeevan Pariyar is also likely to be included in the new cabinet.

Deuba is also believed to have asked Party leader Shekhar Koirala to furnish names of two ministers from his side.

Bishnu Poudel, Yogesh Bhattarai and Anjan Shakya, are the likely entrants from the UML side.
