Oli to be appointed as Prime Minister for the third time, Oath tomorrow

CPN- UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is set to be appointed as Prime Minister on Sunday. President Ram Chandra Poduel has begun the process of appointing Oli as the new Prime Minister today.

According to the Article 76(2) of the constitution, with the support of the parliamentary party leader of Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuda, Oli had claimed to form a new government on Friday evening.

The President had called for the formation of the government on Thursday. According to the source, preparations are underway at the President’s office to hold the oath-taking ceremony around 11 am Monday.

Oli who had supported the government led by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ under the leadership of the CPN-Maoist, dissolved the coalition with the Maoist and join hands with the Congress.

According to the understanding reached with the Congress on the night of Asar 17 (July 1), they decided to run a ‘coalition government’.  According to the agreement, Deuba will become the Prime Minister at the end of first term followed by Oli. This the third time Oli is set to be Prime Minister of Nepal.
