NEPSE Index Rises by 9.09 Points
Kathmandu – On Tuesday, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which had decreased by nearly two percent, showed a slight increase today. The NEPSE index rose by 9.09 points, reaching 2,711.75 points.
Today, 323 companies traded a total of 15,464,552 shares in 74,303 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 7.09 billion (709,028,794).
The banking sector decreased by 0.26%, life insurance by 0.18%, non-life insurance by 0.21%, and other groups by 0.07%. However, all other sectors showed an increase in their sub-indexes.
The highest increase was observed in the development bank sector, which grew by 3.38%. Other sectors saw growth as follows: finance (1.66%), hotels and tourism (0.45%), hydropower (1.28%), investment (0.20%), microfinance (0.07%), mutual funds (0.38%), and trading (0.27%).
Shares of Corporate Development Bank Limited, Sindhu Development Bank Limited, Nepal Hydrodevelopers Limited, Sapta Koshi Development Bank Limited, and Women Microfinance Financial Institution Limited saw positive circuit limits today. On the other hand, the share price of Gurans Microfinance Financial Institution Limited saw a negative circuit.
Based on the transaction value, the highest turnover today was from Ngadi Group Power Limited, with NPR 328,190,259. Based on the number of shares traded, the highest volume was from Himalayan Energy Development Company Limited, with 764,519 shares exchanged.
