Nepal’s T-20 World Cup qualifying group includes Kuwait and Japan, when will each match be played?

Kathmandu – The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the group divisions for the T20 Asia and East Asia regional qualifiers on Thursday.

In the draw released by the ICC, Nepal finds itself in the same group as Kuwait. A total of nine teams have been divided into three groups to compete in the qualifiers.

Group ‘2’ consists of Nepal, Kuwait, and Japan, while Group ‘1’ includes UAE, Malaysia, and Qatar. Group ‘3’ features Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Samoa.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Super Six round. In this round, matches will be played in a round-robin format, with the top three teams securing a place in the World Cup. The World Cup qualifiers for Asia and East Asia will take place from October 10 to 17.

According to the ICC, the group stage matches are scheduled from October 8 to 10, and the Super Six matches will run from October 12 to 17. Among the competing nations, Nepal and Papua New Guinea have prior World Cup experience.

Match Schedule for Nepal:

The Asia and East Asia-Pacific regional qualifiers will be held at the Al Amerat Cricket Academy in Oman from October 8 to 17, featuring a total of 9 teams divided into three groups.

In Group ‘2’, Nepal will face off against Kuwait and Japan. Nepal’s first group stage match is against Kuwait on October 8, followed by a match against Japan on October 10.

After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will move on to the Super Six stage, running from October 12 to 17. The top three teams from this stage will earn a spot in the World Cup.
