Nepal’s Final 23 for International Championship Announced

Kathmandu – Nepal has announced the final 23-member squad for the 4-nation international women’s championship to be held in Kathmandu from February 17th to 25th.

The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) announced the final 23-member Nepali team on Thursday from the 30 players who were in closed training for the competition.

The final team was selected from the players who were in closed training under the leadership of head coach Rajendra Tamang for the international women’s championship, which will be held on home soil. In the initial phase, ANFA had called 39 players for closed training. 

In the second phase, that number was reduced to 30. Today, the final 23-member team was finalized for the international women’s championship.

Nepal will play its first match against Kyrgyzstan on February 17th at Dasharath Stadium at 5:30 PM. Similarly, the second match is against Lebanon on February 20th and the third match is scheduled against Myanmar on February 23rd.

23-member Nepali team:

Goalkeepers: Anjila Tumbapo Subba, Anjana Rana Magar, and Usha Nath 

Defenders: Amrita Jaisi, Gita Rana, Bimala b.k, Pooja Rana, Nisha Thokar, Samikshya Ghimire, Bimala Chaudhary, and Manmaya Damai

Midfielders: Anita Basnet, Renuka Nagarkoti, Preeti Rai, Saru Limbu, Sabita Rana Magar, Renuka Hamal, and Sushma Tamang

Forwards: Sabitra Bhandari, Rashmi Kumari Ghising, Chandra Bhandari, Anita KC, and Rekha Paudel
