Kathmandu — The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has named its 16-member squad for the Top End T20 Series in Australia, which will be held in Darwin from August 14 to 24, 2025. The tour forms part of Nepal’s preparation for the Asia–East Asia–Pacific qualifier for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in Oman in October.

Nepal’s fixtures include six matches: against the Northern Territory Strike on August 15, Bangladesh ‘A’ on August 16, Melbourne Stars on August 18, Hobart Hurricanes on August 19, Melbourne Renegades on August 20, and Pakistan Shaheens on August 22—all to be played across DXC Arena, TIO Stadium, and Cazaly’s Arena in Darwin.

Following the Australia tour, Nepal will travel to the UAE in September to contest a three-match T20I series against the West Indies before heading to Oman for the World Cup qualifiers.

The 16-player squad, captained by 22‑year‑old Rohit Paudel (the world’s youngest T20 captain) and vice‑captained by Dipendra Singh Airee, blends youth and experience: Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Aarif Sheikh, Bhim Sharki, Rupesh Kumar Singh, Sompal Kami, Nandan Kumar Yadav, Karan K.C., Rijan Dhakal, Lokesh Bam, and Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi.

This tour offers Nepal critical exposure to Australian playing conditions and match experience against quality opponents—essential elements in their build-up to the highly competitive T20 World Cup qualifiers later this year.
