Kathmandu – Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has unleashed a barrage of questions targeting the party leadership, particularly party president Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Presenting himself aggressively at the party’s Central Committee meeting, which began on Monday, Koirala raised serious questions about coalition formation, the working style of the disciplinary committee, the neglected state of sister organizations, and the party’s operational procedures. He warned that his patience and decency should not be mistaken for weakness.

During the meeting held at the Central Office in Sanepa, Central Committee member Shekhar Koirala expressed his views, posing numerous questions to party president Deuba and the entire executive body, demanding answers.

He emphasized that opaque decisions and factional prejudices made in the name of unifying the party must end. Koirala also demanded a concrete reason for breaking the alliance with the Maoists and forming a government with the CPN (UML).

He stated that he was attempting to voice some bitter truths and requested that no one take offense, as he spoke about the irregularities within the party and sought answers from President Deuba. Koirala also stated that the 15th General Convention should be held by mid-December 2082 (Nepali calendar).

Koirala was most aggressive regarding the role of the disciplinary committee, accusing President Deuba of attempting to take action against him. He questioned, “On what basis was there talk of taking action against me?” and demanded a response.
