Nepal wins the ACC U-16 East Zone Cup Championship

Kathmandu – Nepal clinched the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup title.

Securing the championship for the second consecutive time, Nepal defeated Singapore by 2 wickets. Chasing a modest target of 114 runs set by Singapore, Nepal faced a tough battle. They achieved this target in 29 overs, losing 8 wickets.

For Nepal, Shivansh Bajgain scored 20 runs while Shubham Khanal contributed 18 runs. Prasidha Jaishi and Parimarjan Yadav added 17 and 13 runs, respectively.

The top scorer for Nepal was Joy Thapa, who remained unbeaten with 24 runs, guiding his team to victory. He was supported by Abhay Yadav, who scored 10 runs.

Earlier, Singapore, having won the toss and opted to bat first, were all out for 113 runs in 40.5 overs. Their opener Rohan Austin Arun scored 23 runs, and captain Ran Naik made 15 runs. Among others, Aakash Teja scored 10 runs, and Vhedans Gupta remained not out with 13 runs.

For Nepal, Abhay Yadav and Shushil Bahadur Rau took three wickets each, while Shubham Khanal claimed two wickets and Bipin Sharma took one.
