Nepal to Chair SAARC Surgical Care Society
Nepal has been handed the presidency of the SAARC Surgical Care Society for the year 2024-2025.
The current president, Prof. M. D. Lamawansa handed the succession to Prof Sunil Kumar Sharma Dhakal during the three day 52nd Sri Lanka Surgical Congress (SLSC 2023), held in Colombo that concluded on September 16.
According to the SSCS constitution, the presidency of the society changes every two years on a rotational basis among the SAARC member countries.
SAARC Surgical Care Society was established in the 1990s with the main objective of establishing close relationships between the surgical societies of various countries, exchanging technology and experiences besides upholding the dignity and prestige of surgeons.
