Nepal requests Israel for early repatriation
Kathmandu, Oct 11: Minister for Foreign Affairs NP Saud had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Eli Cohen yesterday and conveyed Nepal’s solidarity with Israel in this difficult time.
The Foreign Minister also requested for Israeli Government’s facilitation in early repatriation of mortal remains of deceased Nepalis, safety, security and relocation of Nepali nationals in safer area, and repatriation of those who wish to return home, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Minister of Israel thanked the Government of Nepal for expression of solidarity and assured Israel Government’s full support in early repatriation of the mortal remains and return of Nepalis desiring to come home.
Foreign Minister, in the afternoon, had informed the International Relations and Tourism Committee of the House of Representatives that 324 Nepali citizens who want to be rescued and return to Nepal have provided details through the online registration system of the Nepali Embassy in Israel. Among those who gave details, 288 people wished to return to Nepal while 36 wanted to be relocated.
Considering the present situation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has requested Nepalis who are about to go to Israel for study and other purposes not to do so at the moment.
In addition, Foreign Minister Saud shared that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a regular press briefing at 4:30 pm starting today.
