Kathmandu – Nepal has advanced to the final of the four-nation international football championship with a second consecutive victory.

Even before the final match between Nepal and Myanmar, both Nepal and Myanmar had already secured their spots in the final. While Myanmar reached the final by winning both of their matches, Nepal secured their second consecutive win by defeating Lebanon 1-0 in their second game.

The only goal scored in the first half proved decisive for Nepal to reach the final before their last game. For Nepal, striker Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’s shot in the 43rd minute was deflected by Lebanon’s player Farah El Tayar and turned into a goal.

Although both teams failed to create significant opportunities in the second half, Lebanon came close to scoring in the final moments of the game, only to be denied by the crossbar. In injury time, a brilliant attempt by a Lebanese player hit the crossbar and bounced back, leaving Lebanon unlucky.

In the match held at Dasharath Stadium, Nepal kept Lebanon under pressure relatively, but struggled to score. Lebanon also missed some good scoring chances in the first half. Nepal’s goalkeeper and captain Anjila Tumbappo Subba made some excellent saves.

Now, Nepal will play against Myanmar in their last group stage match, and they will also face Myanmar in the final. In their first match, Nepal defeated Kyrgyzstan 1-0, while Myanmar defeated Lebanon 3-1. In the second match held today, Myanmar defeated Kyrgyzstan 5-0, registering their second consecutive win.
