Nepal a valued partner in the Indo-Pacific, says secretary Blinken
Kathmandu, 31 Oct: The United States has welcomed Nepal as a very valued partner in the Indo-Pacific.
Welcoming Nepal’s foreign affairs minister at the State Department, Secretary Blinken said, ‘Nepal is today a very valued partner in the Indo- Pacific. We are working together to ensure that we have a free, open, secure, prosperous region.’
Secretary Blinken, in his remarks prior to the meeting, expressed condolences for the 10 Nepali students who were murdered by Hamas in Israelis October 7.
Hailing 76 years of diplomatic relation between Nepal and U. S., he said, ‘we have 76 years of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the United States, and Nepal is today a very valued partner in the Indo-Pacific.’
Minister Saud, in his response thanked Secretary Blinken for his concern over the death of Nepali students and appreciated the U S for being a development partner of Nepal.
