NC’s Surendra Pandey takes over as Gandaki CM

Nepali Congress leader Surendra Raj Pandey has been appointed as the fourth Chief Minister of the Gandaki Province.

State Chief Prithviman Singh Gurung appointed Pandey as the new Chief Minister, a week after Khagaraj Adhikary of the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist could not secure the vote of confidence in the House.

Pandey, backed by Maoist Center and the United socialist leaders besides the NC totaling 35, will have to prove his majority in the House within a month from today.
