Kathmandu- The civil service bill has been manipulated allegedly by the parliament secretariat after it was adopted by the house of representative two days ago.

The bill had a clear provision of a two year cooling period prohibiting retired or resigning bureaucrats from seeking any other employment for two years; the final version after manipulation  by the secretariat however,  says that bureaucrats would not have to wait for two years for employment in diplomatic and political appointments.

Chairperson of the committee, Ramhari Khatiwada, presented the final report report to the House on June 15 which was immediately forwarded to the secretariat.

Once the manipulation detected,  State Affairs Committee Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada plans to meet Speaker of the parliament Devaraj Ghimire on Tuesday  and seek the correction.

According to committee sources, Chairperson Khatiwada has asked all members to be present during the meeting with the speaker.
