Erika Gurung, silver medalist at the Senior Karate Championship, has returned to the country today.
She was welcomed at Tribhuvan International Airport by Tankalal Ghising, Secretary of the National Sports Council, and Yuvraj Lama, President of the Nepal Karate Federation, among other sports officials.
No athletes from Nepal had won medals at the Asian Championships organized by the Asian Karate Federation until now. Erika, who began her karate journey with the Nepal Police Club, was selected for the 19th Asian Games for the first time.
She had also won a silver medal in that competition.
