Massive fire breaks out at Bangabazar market

The massive fire broke out at Bangabazar Market, in Dhaka early morning Tuesday that continued to rage five hours after breaking out, according to the Daily Star.

“The fire, which occurred just over two weeks before Eid, has destroyed most of the valuable goods in these stores”, reads The Daily Star adding “Many people from nearby markets were also seen taking their belongings out of the area, with everyone occupying the street with their possessions’.

Though no casualties reported so far, “livelihood burnt to asses”, it further writes

The fire that broke out at Bangbazar has spread to nearby markets and 47 firefighting units are working to drench it.
