Jhapa – Dr. Mahabir Pun, the chairman of the National Innovation Center, has revealed that 218,000 copies of his autobiography, “Mahabir: Memory, Dreams, and Continuous Journey,” have been sold.

Dr. Pun, who visited Birtamod to promote the book sales in support of the ‘Awishkar Kendra’, mentioned that the sales have generated 120 million rupees, all of which have been deposited into the center’s account. The book is priced at 750 rupees.

He further explained that the funds will be used for the operations of the tool factory in Birgunj and other innovation activities being conducted by the center.

For the past week, Dr. Pun has been in Jhapa, where there has been an increasing trend of individuals and organizations inviting him to events and purchasing his book.

Birtamod Municipality purchased books worth 50,000 rupees during an event on Monday, part of their support for the innovation center. Mayor Pavitra Mahatara Prasai expressed pride in contributing to Dr. Pun’s mission of making the country self-sufficient by purchasing his book.

Mahendra Giri, CEO of Sahara Nepal Saving & Credit Cooperative Society Limited, praised Dr. Pun’s patriotism and dedication, urging others to buy the book and support the cause of national self-sufficiency.

The campaign to buy his book is actively being led by local social organizations and youth groups in Birtamod, Damak, Bahadashi, and other municipalities.

At the event in Birtamod on Monday, Dr. Pun encouraged youths to contribute in any way they can, instead of merely criticizing political leaders on social media. “It is not enough to just criticize leaders online; everyone should make even a small contribution towards the nation,” he said.

He also shared that the National Innovation Center is currently producing 15 types of agricultural tools, which he believes will greatly benefit small farmers in the municipalities in the future.
