Landslides block traffic at three locations on BP Highway

Kavrepalanchok – Landslides and mudslides along the BP Highway have blocked the road in three locations.

According to the District Police Office in Dhulikhel, efforts to clear the road since last night continued into this morning. The blockage occurred in Mamti, Ward 11 of Roshi Rural Municipality, where flash flooding eroded the road. Similarly, a mudslide at Khahare Khola in Roshi-9 blocked the highway last night.

Information Officer Min Bahadur Ghale reported that a similar mudslide also obstructed the road at Biruwadanda, in the same ward. Efforts are underway to clear the road in coordination with local representatives. The road at Biruwadanda had also been blocked earlier this month on the 25th of Asar.

Various areas in the Roshi region have seen road obstructions since Sunday evening due to muddy flows from rain-swollen streams. By using heavy machinery overnight, authorities managed to restore two-way traffic by Monday morning.

The Pinthali section of this highway has been frequently blocked. Obstructions also occurred here on the 16th, 25th, and 26th of Asar.
