Kathmandu – Kulman Ghising, who was dismissed from the Executive Director position of Nepal Electricity Authority, has stated that he was dismissed because he refused to follow any directives that went against the law.

Kulman stated this during a press conference held on Friday. ‘I cannot follow any directives that go against the law. The dispute started regarding dedicated and trunk lines. That’s why I was dismissed,’ he said.

He also refuted the government’s accusations that he ‘failed to be accountable’ and ‘failed to recover outstanding dues.’ He claimed that he was removed while seeking agreement to collect the dues. He stated that he couldn’t collect the dues due to continuous pressure and orders.

Regarding the allegations that Kulman is supported by the Maoist Center and that he is a Maoist, he clarified that he belongs to no one. ‘I don’t belong to any individual or party. I am an employee. I belong to the people,’ he said.

Furthermore, in response to a journalist’s question about entering politics, he said that if such a situation arises, he is ready to take on any responsible position for the country.”
