Kathmandu District Court Grants 12-Day Detention for Durga Prasai

The Kathmandu District Court has granted permission to detain Durga Prasai for 12 days for investigation.

Prasai, who was brought to Kathmandu on Friday via Bhadrapur after surrendering to Indian police, has been given 12 days for investigation into the incident of Chaitra 15th.

Prasai is being investigated on charges of offenses against the state and attempted murder. The bench of Judge Shishir Raj Dhakal of the Kathmandu District Court has also granted time for the investigation of Prasai’s bodyguards.

Prasai was designated as the commander of the Chaitra 15th incident in Tinkune, which was aimed at the restoration of the monarchy. During the crowd he led becoming agitated, two people died, and vehicles, houses, party offices, and shopping complexes were looted.
