Indian MP Sanjay Singh arrested
Kathmandu, 04 Oct: The Indian Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Sanjay Singh, Rajya Sabha MP representing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday.
Singh was detained following ED’s prosecution on money laundering case, said Indian media.
Prior to detention, ED raided his house.
Manish Sisodia, the then deputy chief minister in Delhi and an influential AAP leader, was arrested in February in the same case.
The case termed as ‘liquor scam’ follows an allegation of taking kickbacks to provide liquor licenses and the sum was used by the AAP in the Punjab Assembly election in February 2022, according to Indian Express.
