Kathmandu – Artist Madan Krishna Shrestha has said that the country has seen a great deal of development since the arrival of democracy.

At the inauguration ceremony in Kathmandu on Wednesday, marking the launch of the electric bus service by Metropolitan Transport Pvt. Ltd., he shared that he has observed roads and electricity reaching even the villages after democracy.

‘Roads and pathways have reached villages. Electricity has reached villages. We have already spent billions of rupees on petrol and diesel,’ he said. ‘Now it’s time to ride on our own fuel—electric current. This is truly very good. Since democracy came, I’ve seen a lot of development.’

Artist Shrestha also mentioned that he never imagined one day reaching Jomsom by motor, but recently he did exactly that. He added that the number of buses and the quality of bus services need to increase.
