I can be called a UML leader, considering becoming the chairperson: Former President Bhandari

Kathmandu – Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari stated that she can now be considered a leader of the CPN-UML party. She also made it clear that her future goal is to aim for the party’s chairmanship.

In an interview with journalist Jagadish Kharel on Image Television, Bhandari shared that she has renounced her government privileges and has returned to politics for the welfare of the nation and her party. “It is not about personal ambition or desire for position; I am motivated by the national interest,” she remarked.

Bhandari, who recently announced her return to active politics, openly discussed her objectives and commitments during the interview, amidst ongoing public discourse about her future plans.

When journalist Kharel asked, “Do you feel you need to become the chairperson of UML to achieve all this?” she confidently responded, “Yes, is there any doubt about it?”
